Some have even shown up to check it out. This is the second time Omaha is hosting the trials. In 2008, more than 1,200 U.S. Swimming team members competed in Omaha. This time around it&rsquo;ll be 1,800 swimmers.</p><p>Swim Trials COO Harold Cliff says construction has gone smoothly, and both pools are on schedule. Setup began there at 2AM when workers removed the first eight rows of seats in the arena. It&rsquo;s the biggest competition before the Olympics, which are in London this year. Frank Busch, national team director for USA Swimming, says so far this year 1,600 athletes have met qualifying standards. 1,100 athletes came to Omaha in 2008 for the Trials.</p><p>Busch says Omaha was a perfect location in 2008 for the Swim Trials.
