KIOS will present a 2-hour highlights program from the 2009 Detroit Jazz Festival on Friday September 3rd at 8:00PM.
The prestigious jazz festival is an annual favorite for countless concert goers and jazz fans. 2009's highlights feature performances from Dave Brubeck, Gerald Wilson, Janis Siegel, Louis Hayes and many more. Program hosts are Ed Love of WDET and Linda Yohn of WEMU.

Omaha, NE – The College of St. Mary is currently at full capacity in their residence halls with 214 students.
Marketing Director Carmen Steele says one reason is because more upperclassmen are living in the residence halls this year.
The Mothers Living and Learning program at CSM has also led to full residence halls. Steele says the program offers single mothers the opportunity to live on campus with their children while pursuing their degrees.
College of St. Mary's fall semester began August 25th.
Omaha, NE – Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle doesn't plan to veto the changes City Councilmen made to the 2011 budget.
Suttle sent a letter Friday to Councilmen saying the items Councilmen put in the budget earlier this week will stay. In the letter, Suttle says "After reviewing the revised budget package with the Finance Department and other department directors, I am confident that we will be able to continue to move the city forward with this budget as our guiding document."
Omaha, NE – Creighton University has a freshman class of more than 1,000 students for the second year.
Associate Vice President for Enrollment Mary Chase says last year, Creighton had 1,054 freshmen. This year's class will have 1,010 to 1,015 students. Chase says the university's enrollment is holding steady as interest from outside the metro grows.
