Omaha, NE – Omahans have a new way to tell city department heads what issues are most important to the community.
The city launched a new service Wednesday called "EngageOmaha." The website works like a virtual town hall meeting: city leaders pose questions for the public to comment on, and EngageOmaha members can vote on those issues.
Omaha, NE – Omaha's YWCA is now the Women's Center for Advancement, but WCA leaders say the mission remains the same.
Women's Center for Advancement President and CEO Natalia Peart says the name change better reflects what the agency does: provides for the needs of women and families. While some programs are being expanded and others added, Peart says the program WCA is known for, its sexual assault and domestic violence crisis program, is still the most used.
