Omaha, NE – A UNO political scientist says personality and job performance are the two factors that lead to Omaha mayoral recall efforts.
Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle faces a recall election in mid to late January. If a simple majority of Omaha voters approve a recall, Suttle will be the second Omaha mayor in the city's history to be recalled.

Omaha, NE – Metal detectors will begin appearing at some Omaha Public Schools high school basketball games this weekend.
The OPS board Monday evening approved spending $60,000 for the use of four metal detectors. Lion's Gate Security will operate the metal detectors at sporting events deemed "priority," where large crowds are expected.
Omaha, NE – The Douglas County Election Commission verified 28,720 recall petition signatures, setting up a possible recall election in January.
The Mayor Suttle Recall Committee turned in more than 37,000 signatures November 19th. During a news conference Saturday, Election Commissioner Dave Phipps announced that 25 percent of the recall petition signatures were thrown out.
