Omaha, NE – Vaccinations against swine flu are underway in Douglas County.
Health Department officials say 2,600 doses of the nasal spray vaccine against swine flu arrived Monday. Another 1,500 doses are expected later this week. Young people ages two to 24 years old will be the first to receive the vaccinations.
Resource Specialist Phil Rooney says children under two and pregnant women cannot get the nasal spray vaccine. It's intended for healthy people ages 2 to 49.
Omaha, NE – A new report says one in seven Nebraska children are unsure of when they'll get their next meal.
The Nebraska Appleseed Center for Law in the Public Interest published the report on childhood nutrition. It says the state ranks 43rd when it comes to the number of children served by the Summer Food Program. Nebraska is 45th when it comes to the number of children who receive breakfast through the School Breakfast Program.

Nader has run for President several times, most recently in 2008. He was on the ballot in 45 states, including Nebraska and Iowa. The Nader-Gonzalez campaign got just over 730,000 votes in the 2008 election.
Omaha, NE – Consumer advocate and former Presidential candidate Ralph Nader has a new book that imagines a nation where the wealthiest solve social, political and economic issues.
Nader's book is called "Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us." It's set in 2005, immediately after Hurricane Katrina. In the book, Warren Buffett is reading accounts of Hurricane Katrina when he decides to gather the nation's billionaires for a summit. They're given the task of solving the nation's most pressing issues.
Bellevue, NE – A new program is designed to help veterans, active duty servicemen and women, and their families get treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Lutheran Family Services' Bellevue office is administering the At Ease Program. It provides counseling to those suffering from PTSD. Right now, the LFS program has 15 clients. A recent survey estimated that up to 35% of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are suffering from that condition.
Omaha, NE – Community planning, urban design, and economic development are all key parts of a long-term study regarding the future of South Omaha.
The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce is working on the South Omaha Development Project. Earlier this week, Chamber officials held a public meeting at the Henry Doorly Zoo to discuss the project as well as what South Omaha could look like over the next 20 years.
