Molly Nicklin

Membership Manager

I started my role as membership manager at KIOS in April 2007.  I work with all things membership, including pledge drives, mailings, thank you letters, newsletters, and member events.  It is a very rewarding job, and I am constantly in awe of the dedication of our volunteers and members.

I got my start in public radio in the membership department at KVNO in Omaha.  Prior to that, I held a variety of clerical jobs and earned a B.A. in Art from Millikin University.  In my spare time, I enjoy painting, learning about new things (often by listening to KIOS!), traveling, and spending time with friends, family, my partner Luke, and our two cats.

I always appreciate hearing from listeners and members, so if you have any ideas for improvements for the membership department, or if you'd just like to say hi, please don't hesitate to get in touch.  Thank you!

Ways to Connect

On Monday, March 27, 2017, at approximately 1:30 p.m., KIOS went off the air so that routine maintenance work can be done on the tower.

You can still listen to KIOS online during this time – click the Play button above, or learn about other streaming options here.

We will back on-air soon - the maintenance work is expected to take about two hours.  Thank you for your patience!

Tower Maintenance

Jan 3, 2017

On Wednesday, January 4, we performed some tower maintenance work.  This project was separate from our antenna replacement project, and involves the de-icing equipment, which allows us to broadcast during inclement weather.

Today's work is complete, and we are back on-air.

Thank you for your patience!

We're back on-air and streaming is back up!

Our antenna replacement is finally complete.  Everyone in our listening area should now be able to get our signal loud and clear.  (If you are still experiencing problems, please let us know by email.)

Thank you so much for your patience during this necessary update to our aging equipment.  The process took longer than we anticipated due to circumstances beyond our control, but we are pleased to be back at full power, bringing you the programs you count on each day.

On Monday, August 29th, KIOS might be off the air for a period of time, due to work being done on our tower.
Our signal will still be available online (click the Listen Live play button in the grey header bar above), and via the NPR News app (search for KIOS).
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the work will be completed quickly and we will resume our regular on-air signal.  Thank you for your patience.

Reservations for this event are now closed.

Listen Live Changes

May 23, 2016

In late August, we switched our streaming service provider and streaming player.

Please listen using the "Play" button in the grey header bar.  If you experience any problems, please let us know by emailing so that we can troubleshoot the issue.

There are a few alternate methods you can use to access our live stream:

MUGLIFE will donate 116 pounds of coffee to The Siena/Francis House!

For every listener who donated during Morning Edition (April 13-15), a half-pound of coffee is being donated in their honor to The Siena/Francis House Homeless Shelter.  The Siena/Francis House provides food, emergency shelter, and clothing to homeless families and individuals from Omaha and surrounding communities... and they go through a LOT of coffee.

Phone Problems

Mar 29, 2016

We are currently experiencing problems with our phone system.  Some progress has been made, but we're not quite back to normal yet!

You should now be able to get through to our main line - 402-557-2777, although you might not be able to leave a voicemail if no one answers.  If you're unable to get through to us, the best alternative is to contact us by email.  Here's a quick list:

This spring, the KIOS pledge drive will be just 3 ½ days - half the length of our usual week-long drive.

That means more uninterrupted programming for you to enjoy.  But in order for this to work, we need your help...  The success of this shortened pledge drive experiment depends on raising a significant part of the $150,000 spring goal before the drive begins on April 25th.  You can help by making your pledge today!
