VALLEY, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say one person was killed and one injured when a speeding pickup rammed a security guard shack in the eastern Nebraska community of Valley.
The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A security guard was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for treatment.
The Sheriff's Office says the pickup driver was racing away from a traffic stop when his truck hit the shack at Valmont Industries.
The names of the pickup driver and security guard haven't been released.
