2006 Jazz in June Festival

Eight part series begins Thursday night on KIOS.

Omaha, Nebraska – Highlights from the 2006 Jazz in June Festival will be broadcast over KIOS this summer.

The first installment will air on Thursday night. The program for June 12th includes performances by The Jeannie Bryson Quartet, and Brian Gorrell & Jazz Company featuring Shane Conway.

Vocalist Jeannie Bryson is the daughter of legendary Modern Jazz Giant Dizzy Gillespie. Bryson's upcoming disc will celebrate her late father. Her most recent effort showcasing her considerable vocal talents was Deja Blue, released in 2001. Bryson's website is at www.jeaniebryson.com.

The Jazz in June Festival is based in Norman, Oklahoma. For the past few years, over 50,000 jazz fans have converged in Norman to enjoy the festival.

2008 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Jazz in June Festival. The first installment of the festival will be aired at 8pm Thursday on KIOS.
