The 2008 Jazz Heritage Series

Omaha, Nebraska – KIOS will air the 2008 Jazz Heritage Series Featuring The USAF Airmen of Note with special guests on Thursdays at 8:00 beginning September 11th.
The first program features Grammy nominated vocalist Karrin Allyson. Allyson has recorded Nine CDs for Concord that include many styles and genres including the American Songbook, bossa nova, blues, and contemporary pop.

The USAF Airmen of Note has performed its popular Jazz Heritage Series since 1990. Over the years since its inception, music critics and concert goers have praised the series, and letters of appreciation have poured in.

Throughout its long history, The Airmen of Note has regularly performed and recorded with the leading artists in the jazz world. In fact, the list of guest artists featured with the Note reads like a "who's who" of the jazz music industry.

Today, the Airmen of Note continues this long-standing tradition in part through its Jazz Heritage Series performances. The series features internationally acclaimed jazz musicians who donate their time and talent to join the Airmen of Note in bringing high-quality music to audiences in the nation's capital.

These FREE concerts take place once-monthly in September, October and November at Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The Airmen of Note's Jazz Heritage Series, presented by The United States Air Force Band, provides a wonderful opportunity for the public to experience the Air Force's high level of professionalism through concerts featuring masters of the only American-born art form--jazz music.
