Omaha, NE – ServeNebraska's 2010 Listening Tour stops in Omaha this afternoon at the Scott Conference Center.

Barbara Thomas is the Executive Director for ServeNebraska. She says the purpose of the Listening Tour is to identify the most pressing needs in local communities and explore potential service solutions. Thomas says once the tour concludes, ServeNebraska will put together a state service plan for 2010-2012.

Smith says some of the common issues smaller communities are dealing with include losing youth and not having enough activities for those ages 55 and up, especially in cities of less than 1,000 people. She says, "We've heard some good ideas of things that are being done locally with very little resources. So we will share some of those good ideas as well as propose new things."
