2011 College World Series begins June 18 at new ballpark

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – The 2011 Men's College World Series begins June 18.

This year's CWS will be played at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The $128 million stadium opened last month. Kathryn Morrissey, Executive Vice President of CWS Omaha, says preparations for the event have changed with the move to a new ballpark. "In the new location, it's very refreshing for us. We're looking at everything from a new eye and saying, is there a reason why we do it that way, and let's reexamine this and see if there's a better way of doing things in the new location."

Morrissey says new features this year include a 25 cent shuttle provided by Metro Area Transit to the ballpark. The Stadium Circulator will run from two hours before the first game to two hours after the last one. There will also be bike parking at the CWS site.

Morrissey says at least 800 tickets will be available for sale at the TD Park box office every day of the Series.
