The 2014 ICAN Women’s Leadership Conference takes place April 9th at the Century Link Center.
Mary Prefontaine, President and CEO of ICAN, says this year’s theme is Happiness: Bending the Bottom Line.
She says there will be several keynote speakers including Dr. Sherry Cooper, Global Economist, and Norah O’Donnell, “CBS This Morning” anchor.
In addition to the conference, ICAN will present a special screening of the documentary film. “Happy.”
Prefontaine says the film explores what it means for us to be happy.
"And we wanted to ignite a conversation in our community which takes us from the bayous of Louisiana to the deserts of Namibia to the beaches of Brazil to the villages of Okinawa, really exploring the secrets and mystery behind our most valued emotion.”
Prefontaine says the film prompts the viewer to consider whether Omaha is a community that values and promotes happiness and well-being.
The ICAN Conference takes place April 9th while the documentary will be screened at 6:30 on Tuesday, April 8th.
Both events happen at the Century Link Center.
