The 2nd Annual Artsarben Festival takes place today and tomorrow from 10 until 5 at Aksarben Village.
Emily Peklo, Event Manager, says the art fair serves as a smaller companion to the Summer Arts Festival. Peklo says there’s just nothing like it in the fall schedule in Omaha.
She says there will be 80 artists from all over the country. The show will feature jewelry, painting, sculpture, glass, fiber, photography and more.
Peklo says the performing arts portion of Artsarben is different this year.
"We have street performers this year instead of putting people on the stage. We will have 4 locations throughout the festival where we are going to have street performers, so you will see dancers, hula hoopers and musicians. We thought that would be a very unique experience. You can get up close and personal with our visual artists and our performing artists so we are very excited about that.”
Peklo says there will also be a KidZone with all sorts of hands-on activities for kids.
