Omaha, NE – Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska presents its annual At Ease Luncheon on Monday, January 30th.

The event takes place at Omaha's CenturyLink Center. Bev Carlson is PR Director for LFS. She says At Ease is a program that provides therapeutic support and trauma treatment for active duty military, veterans and their families. Funds raised from the luncheon will go back into the program.

This year's keynote speaker is former Staff Sergeant, Sal Giunta, US Army. Carlson says Sgt. Giunta is the first living American to receive the Medal of Honor for service in Iraq or Afghanistan.

"I believe he's going to be talking about his experience, probably specifically as it relates to the trauma of being in a war zone and what those soldiers are coming back with. All the men and women that are serving in our military right now are bringing back really horrific experiences. So my guess is that will be the focus of his presentation."

The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest decoration for valor.

Tickets for the At Ease Luncheon are available online at lfsneb.org.
