5-4-3-2-1 Go! Dance Challenge Underway

The Go Dance Challenge is open to kids in kindergarten through 5th grade now through March 12th.

Kelly Bouxsein, Healthier Communities Administrator for CHI Health, says kids visit the website GoNebraskaKids.org, download the “Let’s Go” jingle, videotape themselves dancing to the song and submit their video online.

Bouxsein says five finalists from each of the participating counties be selected from the online submissions.

Bouxsein says the Go Dance Challenge is a fun and easy way to put step 1 of the 5-4-3-2-1 Go Healthy Kids Countdown into action.

"5-4-3-2-1 Go is an easy healthy kid’s countdown.  It stands for 5 servings if fruits and vegetables, 4 servings of water, 3 servings of low-fat dairy, 2 hours or less of screen time and 1 hour or more of physical activity .  And those are the five healthy habits kids should have every day.”

Bouxsein says starting March 28th people can go online and vote for their favorite videos.

Winners will be chosen from Douglas, Sarpy/Cass, Otoe and Colfax counties.

Each winner will receive up to $1,000 that will then go back to their school or their favorite organization that promotes healthy habits.
