Omaha, NE – 55 people are in custody after a multi-agency drug and gun bust Tuesday morning in Omaha.
A news release from the ATF says that agency, along with Omaha Police, the US Attorney's Office, and the Douglas County Attorney's office, made the arrests Tuesday. It's the result of a seven-month investigation in to violent crime in Omaha. The charges against the 55 people arrested include possession of illegal firearms and drug trafficking.
Officials say those defendants have a total of 255 prior arrests, 52 felony convictions, and 151 misdemeanor convictions. The ATF and Omaha Police recently formed a partnership focused on reducing the city's violent crime rate.
