Up to 7 inches of snow, dangerous wind chills expected with new winter storm

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – Another winter storm has moved in to Omaha, bringing about three inches of snow so far.

The metro area remains under a Winter Storm Warning through early Thursday morning, and a snow emergency has been declared in Omaha. Omaha could receive five inches of snow by the time the storm moves out. Western Iowa and northeast Nebraska are forecast to receive about seven inches of snow.

Blowing and drifting snow conditions are possible with the storm as a cold front moves through. Wind chill values are expected to be -30 or lower by Thursday morning.

Omaha Public Works says streets are snow and ice-covered. Anyone traveling Wednesday afternoon should use extreme caution.
