Additional charges have been filed against an Omaha man after the body of a missing 5-year-old was found Monday.

Omaha Fire Department divers recovered the body of 5-year-old Josue Ramirez-Marinero from the Elkhorn River Monday morning. Ramirez-Marinero was reported missing last Thursday.

The body of Ramirez-Marinero’s mother, 45-year-old Jesus Ismenia Marinero, was found last Wednesday at 4th and Cedar Streets. Her 25-year-old son, Roberto Martinez-Marinero, is in custody in connection with her death.

Martinez-Marinero faces an additional murder charge in connection with Josue Ramirez-Marinero's death. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says he plans to seek the death penalty for Martinez-Marinero.

Martinez-Marinero is also charged with kidnapping. Jesus Ismenia Marinero's 11-month-old son was found alive in a dumpster last Wednesday in La Vista.
