Council Bluffs is moving forward with an update to its Comprehensive Plan known as “The Bluffs Tomorrow: 2030.”
Public meetings were held last October on the plan. It looks at Council Bluffs’ long-term needs in the areas of transportation, facilities, and infrastructure. The plan also seeks to address environmental and sustainability issues.
Rose Brown, Planning Coordinator for the city of Council Bluffs, says last October’s meetings help set the framework for the plan. "We heard everything from recreational needs, the needs to keep younger people here and the things they would be interested in, concerns about variety and type of housing, and a lot of those sort of things."
A Visioning Workshop on “Bluffs Tomorrow: 2030” is scheduled for February 13 at the Council Bluffs Public Library. Brown says that’s another opportunity for the public to share input on the city’s Comprehensive Plan.
