Aksarben Village Farmer's Market Opens
By Cheril Lee
Omaha, NE – The Aksarben Village Farmer's Market opened on Memorial Day weekend.
Project Manager Heidi Walz says the market will be open from 10 to 2 on Sundays through Labor Day weekend.
Walz says although the Aksarben Village Farmer's Market is quite a bit smaller than the downtown market, Askarben still offers a wide array of vendors. She says while the Downtown Market has an urban vibe, the Askarben Market is more family oriented with lots of green space and a water feature.
She says the decision to hold the market on Sundays made sense. Walz says there's a national trend to hold Farmer's markets on Sundays and that Omaha was underserved on that day.
The Askarben Village Farmer's Market is located at 67th and Center Streets, in front of Wohlner's Grocery. For more information, the website is omahafarmersmarket.com.
