Alegent Creighton Health, Catholic Health Initiatives of Nebraska forming a regional network

Alegent Creighton Health

Alegent Creighton is combining its operation with Catholic Health Initiatives of Nebraska to form a regional Network.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning. As of January, The Network will have 16 hospitals and two inpatient behavioral health facilities. It’ll also have a new CEO, Dr. Cliff Robertson. Robertson is currently COO of Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, Washington.

Robertson says he’s excited to lead a network that provides care across a wide spectrum.

"Rural primary care, to an academic medical center, mental health, the work that the teams have done there to build a clinically-integrated network, to begin to align with physicians that are independent practice physicians, but align to really deliver better outcomes at a lower cost, the work that the teams that make up the network have done over the past couple of years is outstanding."

The Network will include hospitals in the Omaha metro area, Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, Schuyler, Plainview, and in western Iowa.

The Network’s new, formal name will be announced in early 2014. Robertson will begin as CEO in February.
