Annual Entrepreneur Workshop comes to Do Space

Metropolitan Community College is hosting its fifth annual Nebraska Entrepreneur Educator Workshop tomorrow from 9 to 2 on the second floor of the Do Space building at 72nd and Dodge.

Heather Nelson, Entrepreneurship Instructor and Program Manager at Metro, says this is a training program for middle school and high school teachers as well as university professors from across the state.

Nelson says there will be a variety of speakers in attendance to help educators at different levels.

"A lot of our economic development comes from the professors themselves.  A lot is coming from science, technology, engineering and math. And these are bright educators that are creating innovative prototypes, technology and pathways for their students and our entire community.  So professors themselves can actually come and learn how to take their ideas and skills and take them to market.”

Nelson says Metro expects 50 educators to attend the conference tomorrow.

She says participants will be able to network and expand their knowledge on current topics as well as resources available for entrepreneurs.
