Arrest reported after Glenwood melee involving principal

GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old Pacific Junction man found with a sword and gun had called for "vigilante justice" after the neighborhood fight involving the Glenwood Community High School principal.

Liam Whitehouse is charged with carrying weapons and going armed with intent. Court records don't list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment on Whitehouse's behalf.

Police say he was pulled over about 9 p.m. Sunday, a few hours after the altercation in which the principal, Richard Hutchinson, and his stepson were injured and a third man was shot.

Mills County Attorney Tricia McSorley says Whitehouse posted on Facebook after the shooting that he was "seeking vigilante justice." Officers say they stopped Whitehouse's vehicle a few blocks from Hutchinson's Glenwood home and found the weapons.
