Authorities recover body from river in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have recovered a body from the Missouri River near the Omaha airport.

The Omaha World-Herald reports anglers spotted the body Wednesday in the river, caught in submerged branches.

Omaha police Lieutenant Michael McGee says crews in boats from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Omaha Fire Department went to the location north of the airport and recovered the body about 4:15 p.m.

McGee says it's too soon to know if the body is that of 23-year-old Aung M. Thu, who was last seen swimming in the river Sunday night.
