Ballet Nebraska ends its 8th season with two performances of “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” this weekend.
Erika Overturff, Artistic Director, says with these performances, Ballet Nebraska comes full circle.
Overturff says “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was the very first ballet the company presented in its first season.
She says the two shows this weekend are the last to be offered under the Ballet Nebraska name. Starting next season, the company will be known as the American Midwest Ballet.
"Our new name, American Midwest Ballet, really reflects our growing stature as a regional asset. And from the very beginning, we have served both Nebraska and Iowa so this new name really reflects our identity as an organization and serving the region."
Ballet Nebraska presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” this Saturday and Sunday at the Orpheum Theatre.
