Omaha, NE – Momentum is Ballet Nebraska's next production February 11th and 12th.

Artistic Director Erika Overturff says the mixed repertory show will feature a Ballet Russe-inspired work and a jazzy comedic piece. Additionally, she says the production will feature Connemara, a work that Overturff choreographed. It was inspired by a painting at the Joslyn art Museum. She says the show features a series of shorter ballets that feature the diversity of the company. The show opens with a beautiful ballet piece using giant hoops that make kind of a balletic mobile. Overturff says, "it's kind of an architectural, structural piece. So it's visually very appealing. Then there's sort of a nostalgic piece , Frank Sinatra-style and it's kind of about growing up in the 50's and 60's."

Momentum takes place at the Arts Center on the Iowa Western campus and at the Joslyn Art Museum on February 11th and 12th respectively. Both shows begin at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available online at balletnebraska.org.
