Basetrack Live is in Omaha for one night only

Basetrack Live is a multimedia documentary theatre production.  The show will be onstage at the Orpheum Theatre, Friday, October 7th at 8:00 p.m.

Anne Hamburger is the Founder and Executive Producer of En Garde Arts, a not for profit theatre in New York.

Hamburger explains the show is a collaboration between En Garde Arts and corpsmen from the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines out of the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

She says the show emanated from a workshop produced at the Juilliard School.  Hamburger says Basetrack Live shows the impact of war on both veterans and their families.

“Where Basetrack is unique from anything else in the country really is that it really focuses on the impact of war on the family, how they are affected.  And it’s actually verbatim text, taken from interviews that we’ve done with Learning Unit 1/8, their husbands, wives, mothers, fathers and relatives…”

Hamburger says the two actors play the real life characters of AJ and Melissa, a young Marine and his wife. The story follows their journey through his deployment to Afghanistan and back home again.
