BB guns, firearms collected during gun amnesty day
Omaha Police collected 25 firearms during a gun amnesty day Saturday.
The event at 60th and Grover was OPD’s fourth gun amnesty day this year. In a news release, OPD officials say 25 firearms, one starter pistol, and 4 BB guns were turned in Saturday. Police also collected 5 five-gallon buckets of ammunition.
The gun amnesty day was co-sponsored by the Bellevue Police Department, who held their own event Saturday afternoon.
More than 100 illegal or unwanted guns have been collected at the OPD gun amnesty days this year.
