The Omaha Women’s Health and Wellness Conference takes place on Friday, October 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites in LaVista.
This year’s theme is “Becoming Your Best Future Self” and will offer women ways to empower themselves to make positive changes in their lives.
Spokesperson Christin McDermott says breakout sessions include a focus on how consumers can get the most from their visit with a health professional and mindfulness and yoga. She says in addition to the guest speakers and sessions, there will also be several low-cost health screenings.
"Some blood screenings for thyroid and lipid. There’s going to be a flu shot also available. And then a variety of free screenings, that would include balance and posture, blood pressure, dental health, glaucoma, cardiovascular and so on.”
Dr. Julie Masters, Chair of UNO’s Department of Gerontology, is the luncheon keynote speaker.
