Bellevue has a new Police Chief.
City officials announced Monday that Mark Elbert is the new Police Chief. Elbert had served as Bellevue’s interim Police Chief since last June, when former Chief John Stacey resigned.
Elbert was one of three finalists for the job, along with Fort Dodge, Iowa, Police Chief Tim Carmody, and retired Omaha Deputy Police Chief Mark Sundermeier.
Elbert joined the Bellevue Police Department in 1996.
