Bellevue Police discuss case of missing 16-year-old girl

Bellevue Police Department

Bellevue Police say the case of a 16-year-old girl who’s been missing since Sunday night is officially classified as a missing person.

Chief Mark Elbert on Wednesday updated the investigation in to the disappearance of 16-year-old Michaela Wells. Wells was last seen Sunday night as she was taking out the trash at her Bellevue home.

Chief Elbert says he won’t classify the case as an abduction or as that of a runaway. He says Wells recently did leave home, but returned the following day.

Wells is five-feet-six inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black tank top, teal hoodie, black shoes, and a long red coat. Elbert says Wells’ parents are cooperating with the investigation.

Anyone with information about Wells’ whereabouts is urged to call Bellevue Police at 402-293-3100.
