Omaha, Nebraska – Join us as KIOS presents more highlights from the 2007 Detroit Jazz Festival on Friday August 29th at 7:00PM.

The Detroit Jazz Festival was founded in 1980 and has become the largest free jazz festival in North America. In 2007, the JazzTimes Readers Poll ranked the festival in the top five. The 2007 festival was billed as "The Rumble in the Great Lakes" honoring the jazz roots of Detroit and Chicago and a friendly on stage challenge between artists from the two cities.

On August 29th the lineup includes The Curtis Fuller Super Band, Poncho Sanchez, Bettye Lavette, Maria Muldaur & The James Dapogny Chicago Jazz Band, Marion Hayden Quintet, Brubeck Brothers Quartet, Kurt Elling & The Wayne State University Band, Regina Carter & The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

Part Two is hosted by Ed Love of WDET, Detroit Public Radio. The series was produced by Dr. Jazz, Linda Yohn and Terry Pontremoli.
