Bob Dylan: Live At the Newport Folk Festival

Special explores Dylan's artistic transformation. By KIOS

Omaha, Nebraska – Bob Dylan: Live At the Newport Folk Festival chronicles Bob Dylan's Newport Festival performances, and his transformation from acoustic newcomer to electric outlaw.

Whether it was his intention to or not, Bob Dylan created a modern myth in 1965. All he
had to do was plug in an electric guitar at
the Newport Folk Festival. To this day, no
two people agree about what happened. It was
a milestone that shook the folk music world.

But that was Dylan's third appearance at Newport, and looking back at his artistic progression from 1963-1965 at least shows us where it all started.

George Wein, Murray Lerner, John Cohen, Dave Marsh, Bill Flanagan and Greil Marcus tell the story between Dylan's live at Newport highlights that include:

Mr.Tambourine Man
It Ain't Me Babe(with Joan Baez)
Maggie's Farm
Like a Rolling Stone

Listen to Bob Dylan: Live At the Newport Folk Festival Sunday, February 10 at 7:00pm on KIOS.
