Body found at Omaha-area landfill, authorities say

WASHINGTON, Neb. (AP) — A garbage truck driver has found a body at the landfill for the Omaha area.

Authorities say the driver spotted a limb or two in his rear-view mirror as he dumped his load around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the landfill.

Douglas County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Glandt says investigators know where the truck had been earlier that morning but declined to share the information. Glandt said the person hadn't been dead long and was fully clothed. The Douglas County Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday afternoon that the person is 57-year-old Lewis Doss of Omaha.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday.
