Broadway stars help local talent showcase their Broadway dreams

By Cheril Lee

Omaha, NE – Omaha Performing Arts is partnering with The Broadway Dreams Foundation to bring an intensive week of dramatic training to more than 100 area students.

Students auditioned for spots in the program earlier this year. And faculty member Richard Jay-Alexander says he was impressed with the wealth of talent in Omaha. The week of workshops includes lessons in acting, dance and vocal performance. Additionally, Jay-Alexander says students will learn how to jump start their careers, "The great thing here is the payoff, a big show on July 16th at 7:30 at the Holland Center called True Colors. We get to show off the week's intensive and the local talent, doing it at the Holland. And I love the hall. I think the acoustics are fantastic. I want to fill that place. I think it holds 2,000 people, if I am not mistaken. And we are going to put on a show, I promise you."

Tickets for True Colors are available through ticketomaha.com.
