Omaha, NE – Omahans wanting to weigh in on the 2010 city budget have three chances to do so next week.
Mayor Jim Suttle's office is hosting three budget round tables, next Tuesday through Thursday. Each round table features a presentation of the 2010 budget proposal. The public has a chance to discuss the budget and ask questions of city department heads.
The round table schedule is:
Tuesday, July 28: Elkhorn Common Ground, 1701 Veterans Drive
Wednesday, July 29: Benson High School Library, 5120 Maple St
Thursday, July 30: Metropolitan Community College South Campus, Industrial Training Center, Room 119
Each budget round table begins at 7 PM.
Mayor Suttle introduced the $457 million budget to the City Council this week. His budget proposal includes an entertainment tax and a property tax increase. He also wants to re-allocate Keno money to the Omaha Public Library and for the purchase of police cars.
