Nebraska Appleseed’s Good Apple Awards recognize the successes that they and their partners have been part of over the last year.
Becky Gould, Executive Director at Nebraska Appleseed, says this is an opportunity for Nebraska Appleseed to also look forward to what lies ahead in terms of working for justice and opportunity for all Nebraskans.
Rachel Jacobson, Executive Director for Film Streams, received Nebraska Appleseed’s Emerging Leader Award. Gould says the award recognizes those creating new things in Nebraska that draw attention to important issues.
"And so we are really recognizing Rachel’s work in setting up Film Streams and the efforts they make to create community dialogue around important issues. For example, they’ve shown a number of films related to Immigration issues and the impact Immigration issues have on our state and our community and had some really productive discussions around that.”
Other recipients included State Senator Kathy Campbell and The Nebraska Indian Child Welfare Act Coalition.
