Omaha, NE – Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom are sponsoring a Welcome Home Event in Grand Island on July 31st.
Program Manager Heather Bojanski says the Welcome Home event is put together each year by the VA. She says highlights of the event this year include informational booths, lunch and free tickets to local attractions. Bojanski says the Welcome Home event is open to those who have returned from or are re-deploying to Iraq or Afghanistan. "We think it's important to not only recognize all the hard work our soldiers do when deployed but we also think it's very important to try to help reconnect them with their families when they return home, and to let them know that when things come up, we are here to assist them."
The celebration and information fair takes place from 10 to 3 on the 31st at the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island. To RSVP for the event, the number is 308-395-3319.
