Celebrations in Omaha mark Obama inauguration

By Katie Knapp

Omaha, NE – Several celebrations Tuesday in Omaha marked the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

At the Omaha Children's Museum, students from Jackson and Liberty Elementary Schools toured the Headed to the White House exhibit. The exhibit takes kids through the election process, from the announcement to the inauguration. Jackson Elementary students watched President Obama's inauguration on a television set up inside the exhibit.

At Creighton University and the University of Nebraska-Omaha, several locations were set up for viewing the ceremony. Creighton University College Democrats President Brian Martens says the President connected with young voters and spoke to issues they care about. UNO College Democrats Vice-President Jennifer Dotson says she feels a renewed sense of hope for the country.
