Omaha, NE – An Omaha hospital has implemented a new policy it hopes will help protect patients from catching the flu.
Children's Hospital and Medical Center announced the new policy this week. The policy limits patient visitors to parents, guardians, grandparents, and siblings. Visitors to patient care areas, the emergency room or the Hospital's clinic must wear masks. A spokeswoman for Children's Hospital and Medical Center says medical staff will also wear masks when visiting patients.
Hospital officials say the policy is temporary. It is expected to last through the duration of the flu season.
