The City of Omaha's Parks and Recreation Department is holding 2012 summer job fairs

Omaha, NE – The City of Omaha's Parks and Recreation Department is holding two summer employment job fairs on Wednesday.

Bob Baber is the city's Golf Manager. He says the parks and recreation department is hiring for all areas in the department, including aquatics, park maintenance, golf courses and concessions.

Baber says the city is holding its summer job fairs now while college students are back on winter break. Baber says there's a two-step application process: first, those who are interested need to fill out an online application, and then go to one of the job fair sites.

"Applicants should bring two valid forms of ID. One needs to be a photo ID, like a driver's license, and then a birth certificate or a social security card. And then they can sit down with the people and go through the interview process and talk to somebody in golf or swimming or whatever area they are interested in."

Another job fair is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Florence Community Center, 2920 Bondesson Street. And there's a job fair Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Camelot Community Center, 9270 Cady Avenue.

Applications are available online at cityofomaha.org/humanresources/employment.
