Omaha, NE – Attendance at this year's College World Series was down slightly from the 2009 event.
CWS of Omaha ticket committee chairman Herb Hames says 330,922 people attended the 2010 series. Last year, attendance topped 336,000.
Hames says weather was a factor in the lower attendance, along with the absence of CWS regulars LSU and Texas. Both teams were eliminated in the college baseball playoffs before reaching the CWS.
Games involving TCU and the Series' champion, South Carolina, were the most popular for ticket sales, according to Hames.
In spite of the lower attendance, Hames says there was great interest in this year's Series since it was the last at Rosenblatt Stadium.
