College World Series ticket sales, attendance strong

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium is nearly at capacity every day of the College World Series.

CWS of Omaha Ticket Chairman Herb Hames says attendance so far this Series has averaged 22,900 per game. That's well ahead of last year, and close to Rosenblatt's capacity of 23,145. Ticket sales are 17,000 ahead of this time last year.

Hames credits good weather, new teams, and dedicated fans for the rise in attendance and ticket sales. He says some people are also visiting Rosenblatt Stadium for the last time. The College World Series moves to TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in 2011.

Hames says the economy isn't impacting the College World Series this year as it did in 2008.

College World Series games continue through June 23 or 24 at Rosenblatt Stadium.
