Omaha, NE – The Nebraska Legislature begins committee hearings this week.
Committee hearings are scheduled to begin Tuesday. Last week, Governor Dave Heineman announced legislation will be introduced to reduce taxes more than $326 million dollars over the next three years.
Senator Lavon Heidemann, chairman of the Unicameral's Appropriations Committee, says introduction of bills will continue through January 19th, with the exception of budget bills.
Legislation relating to the state's child welfare system, health care, and business could all be before the Unicameral this session.
The Legislature is tentatively set to adjourn April 12th.
