Community Conference for Women's Religious Leaders

“The Stained Glass Ceiling” is the theme of Project Interfaith’sCommunity Conference on Women’s Religious Leadership.

The conference takes place this Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 in the Scoular Ballroom.

Beth Katz is Executive Director of Project Interfaith. She says the conference looks at both the opportunities and challenges women have faced to reach positions of religious and spiritual leadership in various traditions.

She says the conference provides these women a chance to take stock of where they are, where they’ve been, and where they want to go both individually and collectively.

"In partnership with the Union for Contemporary Art, we will have a group of female artists from the local community, who are presenting participants with an opportunity to co-create a piece of art that really reflects their hopes and desires for the ways in which women may lead and serve in their different religions and spiritual traditions.”

Katz says there will be speakers but they will primarily serve as catalysts for conversations with the community.

Check-in and an information fair begin at Noon on Sunday.
