ConAgra Foods provides more details of planned spinoff

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — ConAgra Foods is providing additional details about its plans to spin off its frozen potatoes business.

ConAgra filed documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission Wednesday describing Lamb Weston's operations in detail, and it named the top executives who will lead the company after the split.

ConAgra says one of its current directors, Timothy McLevish, will become executive chairman of Lamb Weston. He has experience in the food industry, including at Kraft Foods.

The ConAgra executive who currently leads Lamb Weston, Thomas Werner, will become CEO of the new company that produces a variety of frozen potato and vegetable products.

ConAgra says it expects to complete the spinoff this fall. After the split, the remaining packaged food company will be renamed Conagra Brands.
