Congressman expects stimulus package bill soon
Omaha, NE – President Bush and Congressional leaders began discussing yesterday the details of an economic stimulus package. The plan is designed to boost the economy in the wake of a possible recession, and provide a combination of refunds and tax breaks. The hope is that individuals and families who receive refunds will put that money back in to the economy right away. Second District Congressman Lee Terry says while no numbers are worked out yet, the concepts of the economic stimulus package are there. Terry says there's bipartisan support for the plan, and he feels it's the best way to prevent a recession. He says an economic stimulus bill could be before Congress either late this week or early next week.
