Omaha, NE – The city of Council Bluffs is looking for volunteers to help fill sandbags.
A news release from the city says sandbagging will take place Saturday and Sunday mornings in the parking lot of the Mid America Center. Volunteers are needed both days starting at 8 am to fill sandbags.
Officials say all volunteers are welcome. Volunteers under age 16 must be with an adult.
The Missouri River is above flood stage at Council Bluffs. It's expected to crest at 34 to 36 feet later this month---as much as seven feet above flood stage.
