Council Bluffs’ Finance Director says he’ll run for Iowa Senate next year.
Art Hill announced Monday morning that he’ll seek the District 11 State Senate seat. He’s served as Council Bluffs’ Finance Director since 2008. Hill says he brings to the race a background of financial experience in education and government.
"I’ve had a lot of work in the financial area. I’ve worked with school districts and have a good understanding of school district financing, understand city operations, and of course through a number of projects I’ve had to work on have seen what can happen when you have a true spirit of cooperation among inter-government agencies, things really can work."
Hill says his key campaign issue is financial responsibility in government. He says he’ll look for ways government can provide services in an efficient manner.
Iowa’s District 11 is currently represented by Hubert Houser. The District includes Pottawattamie, Cass, Adams, and Union counties.
