Council Bluffs looks to 2030
Council Bluffs officials are looking to the city’s future, and what’s necessary for growth.
The city is beginning work on an updated comprehensive plan, called Bluffs Tomorrow 2030. Mayor Tom Hanafan says he wants the plan to address several issues. "Transportation and circulation are important, community facilities, infrastructure, environmental features, sustainability, parks and open space, those are some things that we really need to look at as we grow or change as a community in the next 30 years."
Council Bluffs last put together a comprehensive plan in 1994. Hanafan says a new plan is needed to set policy, and determine how the city can best use its resources.
Public meetings on Bluffs Tomorrow 2030 are scheduled for October 24 and 25. More information is available at www.councilbluffs-ia.gov.
